It’s not often you see something as cool and colorfully funky as the new Pentax K-x. This special edition camera, which previously was colored bright red, from Pentax is available in Japan (as usual).

The Pentax K-x has 12.9MP sensor with 720p shooting capacity is a dSLR that comes in rainbow-schemed color. It will also come with a customizable rainbow image upon start up (if that is your kind of thing).

Pentax will only produce about 1,000 pieces of this device, where it will be available in Tower Records Japan for about $800 for the rainbow-colored camera and $150 for the bright red-colored one.

Samsung is coming out with the new limited edition of its mirrorless APS camera, the NX10, on May 7. Although this isn’t a dSLR, it has the same features as that camera. It offers high-quality images and supports interchangeable lenses.

The Samsung NX10 Limited Edition comes with a 3-inch AMOLED display, 14.6MP resolution, optical image stabilization, dust reduction system and capability to shoot H.264 video. It may not exactly be the M9, and it may not exactly be some of the older and considerably better predecessors (whether in Leica or some other brands). But what the Leica V-Lux 20 does have (which others don’t, by the way) is a reasonable price tag.

Leica, who is valued for its popular red logo, releases the V-Lux 20—a camera with 3-inch rear LCD, 25mm to 300mm zoom range and integrated GPS. If you want to be more technical about this camera, you can probably also check out the Panasonic ZS-7. This camera is more like that model.
