Didn’t I just say that technology sometimes teach us to be lazy people? I mean, just the fact that there’s a computer already (making typewriters irrelevant) is a big help for us but really? A wireless keyboard? We need something where we don’t even need to sit up straight to type a few words on our screens? That’s how dependent we have suddenly become.

Citeko’s Wireless Media Keyboard functions like a mouse in mid-air. And because it is wireless, there has got to be something that functions with its USB port—a Bluetooth, infrared, or something. On the top of the keyboard, there are two buttons that serve as the left and…

For all Mario Bros. lovers, here’s one for you. The little Shroom USB drive will let you store 4GB worth of documents while looking cute doing it. There’s also a Mario USB extension that allows for it to be directly plugged in a small, brick square.

The Shroom USB Drive And Mario Brick USB Extension is reminiscent of those long-ago Mario and Luigi Nintendo Games wherein you have to bump the bricks in order for the mushroom to pop out. The mushroom, in return, would give you extra height and strength.

You can purchase the Shroom USB drive at Etsy for $65. The Mario USB extension, worth 25$, can extend anywhere from…

My perennial problem with my webcam is that without adequate lights, my mom cannot see my face properly. There are also odd distortions on the images that appear on it. Overhead lighting can sometimes create dark illusions of circles on your face. It also accentuates some facial flaws like wrinkles.

Some actually resort to pointing their desk lamps on their face just so you can be seen clearly and with all your glory. But now with the Self-Illuminating Webcam, you no longer have to do that.

The camera has six bright white LED lights, which will give you some nice enough lighting. It would not also make you look like a ghost…

The fastest Atom-based number-crunching, graphics-pounding package in our current timespace is the Acer Aspire Revo; that’s it, that’s what we are saying. This thing is chock full of transistors and heck-bent on delivering a screaming, joy-riddled experience to its lucky, quasi-elite owner base. In underground industry jargon, the Acer Aspire Revo is a nettop; that is, a miniature desktop PC with a sleek, portable form factor that’s geared towards web-based applications and Internet-based multimedia functionalities. Also in this little niche genre of desktops is the Asus Eee Box, a popular, inexpensive and intentionally underpowered mini PC.

Inside, we’re looking at an Atom 230 processor, a maximum of 4 GB of RAM,…

We just got wind of the Ridgeline W200 Wrist PC, a strap-on, slapped-together, miniaturized piece of hardware that’s just aching to be worn to your next social bonanza. Its manufacturer is Glacier Computer, a company known for ruggedizing stuff and making technology more extremely extreme. The Ridgeline series of computers is intended mostly for use with vehicles; this is the first one that seems to be able to latch right onto your appendage. It’s got a case molded out of an awesome, super-durable, low weight reinforced magnesium alloy, so the whole thing weighs in at just 10.2 ounces. It’s got a touch screen; a dubious, but backlit, arrangement of keys;…

Over there in Taiwan, one company is hoping to make an Atom-based desktop PC a popular package simply by affixing it with one of the most beloved three-syllable words of our generation. Nothing else about this mid-size box really shines, however – the OBAMA PC is stuck with a featherweight for a CPU and nothing special on the video. It’s gotta coupla sticks of RAM in the back and half a gigabyte of hard drive, so it should take care of the Internet and some office applications in a jiff. Don’t expect to be handling a ton of multimedia and doing a ton of multitasking with this rig, though.

Next Monday, Intel intends to make public its new lineup of chips intended for use in ultraportable laptops.

The new processors are all dual-core CPUs and most are targeted for laptops in the class of the Apple MacBook Air. The new chips include the 2.53 GHz SP9600 with 6 MB of cache memory and a thermal envelope rating of 25 watts.

Also on the roster is a single-core 1.4 GHz SU3500 with a thermal envelope of just 5.5 watts, probably intended for the smallest and most power-efficient of the ultraportable and netbook class. Here’s the official line-up as given by Intel, and which is slated for release on March 30, 2009:
