A prototype of the Xentex Flip-pad Voyager already made it to eBay, with a starting bid of $99. The laptop with dual 13.3 inch screens independently pivoting is pretty large for its class, and honestly, I can’t think of any good reason for someone to require such a model for their tasks other than bragging about it. I guess preferences cannot be argued with.

Yves Behar is the designer of the new version of the XO laptop, called the XOXO. The XO laptop was created from the initiative of the ‘One Laptop Per Child’ project, who’s aim is to provide educational resources to kids from underdeveloped countries.

The new computer is a folding tablet, is half the size of its predecessor and consists of two touch screens.

The purpose of the initial laptop was to be a computer with dramatically reduced costs, environmental-friendly, and to have the lowest energy consumption ever.

One Laptop Per Child unveils thus the next generation of XO laptops, and the XOXO is expected to be ready by the beginning of 2010.

Chinese newspaper Economic Daily News published an article sustaining that Apple will start using only BLU LED for all the MacBooks from the beginning of next year. According to the same publication, Kenmos will increase shipments in the coming year enough to provide sufficient materials for Apple, thus using them on all Macbooks.

Taiwanese company Kenmos is Apple’s main supplier of BLU LED and this year they could reach 1.5 million units, five times more than in 2007. The company’s revenues for this year are already over $66 million. I believe Economic Daily News are a state institution, so I don’t think such an official figure would make something so stupid…

If you are sick of your tiny laptop speakers, you may try this new mountable speaker that is supposed to give more power to the poor quality integrated speakers. It has a nice design, but ‘la piece de resistance’ is the ‘bend-it’ element.

Yes, it can be bent to whatever direction you want, so you can fit your Awesome Speaker laptop anywhere. This is a product from Urban Outfitters, it is battery free, and the B-Flex Speaker can be bought for just $39.

Samsung SDI has unveiled a new laptop concept, with a 12.1-inch AMOLED display. It does look great and has an impressive display, with an 1,280×768 resolution and virtually infinite contrast. Other advantage is that it’s extremely thin and you can carry it everywhere with you, but I don’t know how much can you resist using the touch sensitive keyboard, until you’ll feel a pain in your hands. We have no information about pricing or availability, but it might come out this year.
