The TiVo Premiere is a one-stop media player that will able you to access numerous media content with the TiVo features you learned to adore in the past. It also has the Swivel Search feature that has been extended to search the Internet for various contents like your favorite actor. It can then stream the content straight to your television sets.

The two models, however, that will be released has no WiFi features. You will have to buy an 802.11b/g USB dongle for $40 to make use of WiFi.

There will be two series 4 models for the TiVo Premiere. The 320GB Premiere will retail for $300 while the 1TB Premiere will sell for $500. The $500 TiVo Premiere will come with a THX-certification and a backlit remote.

It’s an evident fact that Mobile Broadband would play an important role in achieving 100% broadband availability in UK. Internet users of the next generation would have multiple demands for a broadband service. Every user will have multiple devices that can communicate or download information from the internet. Also the need for speed, seamless roaming and privacy would make Mobile Broadband to be the best choice.

Even though the download speed of mobile broadband isn’t as high as many other European and Asian countries, the internet providers continually upgrade their networks and keep boosting them to higher speeds. The major advantage of this technology is, that it’s completely wireless and allows internet from anywhere across the country.

Recently, the concept of mobile broadband was taken ahead by the innovation of the mobile Wi-Fi modems. It is otherwise known as MiFi modem. It is a combination of mobile broadband and Wi-Fi technology. A typical mobile broadband modem provides internet access to one computer at a time, while the MiFi device can provide access to multiple devices like laptops, I-phone, Smart phone, I-pad, I-pod, etc, at the same time. The device receives the broadband signal using a SIM card and transmits them using wireless 802.11b/g standards. Any device enabled with a wireless card internally or externally can gain access to the device. The device is powered using a rechargeable lithium battery which holds good for 5 hours of internet browsing. Since there isn’t any wire connected to the device at all, it’s completely independent and can be used from anywhere. The devices can be charged either using a USB power adapter or can be connected to the USB port of a computer.

The plan of upgrading the mobile networks to the 4G standards can definitely make mobile broadband powerful as the coverage and speed provided will be extremely higher than the current 2G and 3G standards. Analysts say that the minimum speed offered will be 100Mbps and the maximum can reach up to 1Gbps. Also enabling wireless 802.11n network access in the MiFi modems will allow file sharing between the devices connected in the network. Future MiFi modem which can access 4G networks and provide wireless 802.11b/g/n access will serve as a perfect home networking device.
