After Apple has released a new line of MacBooks, it seems like they already are preparing for the next year and they will bring something really cool to their garage. According to John Markoff from the New York Times, Apple is developing a product called the MacBook nano, or MacBook touch, or iPhone slate.

Yeah, I know it’s very confusing, but Mr. Markoff claims that “a search engine company shared with me on condition that I not reveal its name: The company spotted Web visits from an unannounced Apple product with a display somewhere between an iPhone and a MacBook. Is it the iPhone 3.0 or the NetMac 1.0?”

So, could it…

It seems like Apple is keeping their promises as they accustomed us. Now, they have posted a new iPhone developer agreement, actually there are two of them: the first was posted for everybody, and the other one was posted only for registered developers. Here’s what the developer’s agreement says:

“You agree that any Apple pre-release software (including related documentation and materials) and any information disclosed by Apple to you in connection with Apple Events or Paid Content (defined below) will be considered and referred to as ‘Apple Confidential Information’.”

So, this confidential information should not be disclosed no matter what. Well, this kinda scared the developers as we don’t really know anything…

Nowadays everybody is now looking to protect the environment. So did concept car designer D.I. Luciano Sanchez, the creator of W3, a three-wheel car concept made especially for the youngsters. Seeing that the urban vehicle is having a nice sport look, the famous motorcycle bulder Ducati decided to take the concept under his caring wing.

Because W3 is wanted to be an eco-friendly vehicle, it is powered by three electrical motors, each placed in W3’s wheels, supplied by a lithium-ion battery and connected to a DC power to AC power converter controlled by a computer. For lightening the car, the designers decided to drop out the rims of the three wheels…

A major double breakthrough which could lead to significantly improved solar cells has been achieved by a team of chemists from the Ohio State University. The researchers managed to develop a new material which will absorb all the energy coming from the sun beams, and in the same time it can generate and capture electrons easily.

The new material is a hybrid material which consists of electrically conductive plastic and metals like molybdenum and titanium. Until now, the materials that were composing solar cells were unable to capture all the sunlight’s energy, however, from now on all the energy from visible light will be captured at once.

“There are other such hybrids…

You probably noticed how much we love LEDs and I have to say that we will love them even more as we are getting older because LED light could be used in medicine. How? Well, according to two German researchers LEDs could help reducing skin wrinkles therefore in the future Botox or other cosmetic surgeries could be history.

After a few weeks when “patients” have endured the high-intensity visible light from the LEDs daily, the results were incredible: “rejuvenated skin, reduced wrinkle levels, juvenile complexion and lasting resilience.”

High-intensity visible light was used in medicine for a long time, but researchers never noticed the physicochemical properties this light. According to Andrei P.…

Apple has just announced today their fourth quarter earnings. This year their earnings seem to have gone up since last year’s Q4, by selling 6.9 million iPhones.

Last year, Apple reported a revenue of $6 billion for Q4, while this year the revenue is up at $7.9 billion and shares also went up from $1.01 to $1.26 a share. From the $7.9 billion revenue, $1.14 is their profit, which is not bad at all.

In 2007, Apple had $24 billion in revenue and $3.5 billion net income, but this year the revenue is up to $32.5 billion, with an income of $4.8 billion. They passed the 10 million iphone sales goal for…

When it comes about army technology, first you think of DARPA and it’s perfectly logical as they always invent something new. This time, it seems like DARPA scientists are trying to develop an advanced video spying technology which will allow real-time video streaming from Iraq and Afghanistan. Allegedly, this super camera will allow US “spies” to watch people digging, throwing, meeting, kissing, shaking hands or driving.

The real-time video streaming will be sent from an aircraft to intelligence analysts from the US. I’m not sure what effect this will have on population as people will be watched doing even the smallest action, however, what’s worse than living in a war area?

“The…

A psychologist professor from the University of Hertfordshire’s Health and Human Sciences Research Institute Showcase created “world’s most relaxing room”. Professor Richard Wiseman managed to build a large scale multimedia space which is destined to calm down the most stressed people.

World’s most relaxing room is showcased as of today until October 24th at the campus of University of Havilland. Groups of ten visitors will enter in this large multimedia room and they will lie down on soft-matting and their head will rest on lavender pillows for 15 minutes.

When the visitors will stay there, they will be surrounded by a green light and on top there will be a clear artificial…

Medical science could change forever thanks to a “special” inkjet-printer as a Japanese professor says that his machine could generate human organs. Makoto Nakamura from the Toyama University, Japan claims that the technology is very simple and it works just like a conventional inkjet printer, but instead of jetting out ink droplets, the machine will jet out hundreds, maybe thousands of cells per second.

The professor from Toyama city is not sure that the inkjet printer-like machine can produce human organs, but it’s worth trying as the preliminary tests were encouraging.

“It would be like building a huge skyscraper on a micro level using different kinds of cells and other materials instead…

Carbon nanotubes are already considered as one the best material of the future thanks to their properties. However, they are far from perfect therefore scientists are trying to improve them so that they can be used in more domains.

Scientists are trying to exploit them at their full potential in order to use carbon nanotubes at macroscale, not only in nanotechnology, but for thin films and other membranes, you have to assemble trillions of these which is very expensive and not very efficient.

These macroscale thin-films and membranes are called buckypapers and they are made of intertwined carbon nanobutes(CNTs). Buckypapers are macroscopic aggregates and they are regarded as the most thermally-conductive materials…
