Normally, point-and-shoot cameras are simple enough that it’s only real special ability is its megapixels. But the Samsung ST5500 is different in a sense that it does not only have a whopping 14.2 megapixels but it can also send photos via email and post them online as well through the camera’s WiFi capability.

This digital camera from Samsung also has a 3.5-inch screen, 100MB memory and microSD support. It is able to take 1280×720 videos at 30fps. It also has a good 7x optical zoom and ISO setting up to ISO 3200. The Samsung ST5500’s shutter speed is also at a good figure of 1/2000 speed.

LHC Enters World Record

CERN—the European Organization for Nuclear Research—announced that the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) became the new world’s highest energy particle accelerator after being pushed protons to 1.18 TeV (trillion electron volts). It surpasses even the previous record of 0.98 TeV, which was held by Fermilab’s Tevatron.

The LHC first fired up in September 2008, but scientists feared then that it will not be able to make its way to the physics experiments they plan to begin in 2010 when the LHC reached its target energy of 7 TeV.
