Chatting through instant messaging like Yahoo! Messenger and Skype has given us people the chance to communicate with our relatives and friends abroad without needing to pay the high price of international calls. This Astro A40 Chat Headset is believed to be the premier sound gaming and chat headset that is compatible with Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The only thing I don’t like about this headset is that unlike the Turtle Beach X41, it’s actually wired. But even though I don’t’ exactly understand why Astro refuses to make this headset wireless, I daresay this is actually more than capable of what the Turtle Beach can do.

To connect the Astro to…

We have always known that breathing in carbon dioxide emissions can cause panic attacks in the brain, but this has never been fully discussed by biological science. Now though, a new study by the University of Iowa researchers shows that carbon dioxide “increases brain acidity, which in turn activates a brain protein that plays an important role in fear and anxiety behavior.”

Published on November 25, the study helps us more understand the basis of panic and anxiety disorders. It may also help scientists come up with better medications for these illnesses.

In order to come up with the results of the study, the researchers focused on a brain protein, the acid-sensing…

I have seen a lot of so-called mini MP3 players in the past years. But none can compare to the tinniest music player I have found available in Japan. This Micro Sport MP3 player looks just like a tiny sugar cube but packs a 4GB memory and rechargeable battery inside its mini frame.

It features full stereo sound. There are two airbuds for this Micro Sport: one is attached directly to the side of the main unit while the other one is put in your ear.

Here’s a translation of the instructions booklet you will get when buying this Micro Sport MP3 player (the original was written in Japanese):

I don’t really know how to take this news. But come to think of it, MRI brain scans are indeed more objective than any other reasoning from lawyers or judges. Apparently, these MRI scans are now being used as evidence in a murder trial in Chicago. This is the first MRI scan to be accepted as evidence in a US court.

The fMRI scan is now being used by a defense team in Chicago for the sentencing portion of the trial. It is not, however, being used as a tool of conviction since a dubious EEG scan was used to convict a woman in a murder trial in India last year.…

The video you see above shows the Earth’s weather from August 17 to August 26 this year. With the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) GEOS-5 atmospheric general circulation model, the agency was able to shoot this 7-kilometer resolution of the Earth’s weather.

The GEOS-5 atmospheric general circulation model, which was based on the Earth System Modeling Framework, was developed by NASA Goddard’s scientists. It is an open source project “for building climate, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation and other Earth science software application.”

There is also a 1080p high definition of this same video over at NASA’s website so if you want to see this thing more clearly, you can head…

For starters, the Ear Force X40 (the predecessor of the Ear Force X41) is the only Xbox-compatible wireless surround sound headset available in the market today since it was able to integrate voice chat smoothly into the mix. And with the release of the Ear Force X41, it got even better.

What has improved in this model? See here for yourself:

* 2.4GHz RF instead of IR audio transmission
* USB powered instead of wall jack
* Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound instead of Dolby 5.1

At first, I was skeptical to stay using the new X41 since I got used with my old X40. But as its features more and more astound me, I daresay…

If you think that heart diseases have only been rampant this century, think again. A new research has just found out that heart illnesses are very much in existence in the past years. In fact, an examination of mummies has revealed that the Ancient Egyptians suffer from hardening of the arteries. The research believes that the causes for heart diseases lie beyond the usual smoking, fast food and remote control.

Out of the 22 mummies studied, 16 have hearts or arteries that where preserved. And of those 16, nine were found out to have a blockage from atherosclerosis. “This disease has been around since before the time of Moses,” said Randall…
