Set to run on November 6, the HTC Droid Eris will run Android 1.6 and will sport a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU. Speaking of technical specifications, I should warn you by now that there is no way the HTC Droid Eris can compare with the Droid from Motorola. Yes, even though the latter one is considerable more expensive than the Android phone from Verizon.

There is simply no excuse for a smartphone that runs Android 1.6 on a 528MHz Qualcomm processor.

If you a bit more budget to spend, better purchase the Motorola Droid. But if you’re on a tight budget, then the HTC Droid Eris will work for you.
