Everything’s digital nowadays. Yes, even your skin can be digitalized, no thanks to this new technology that can transform your skin into a digital interface. The Digital Tattoo Interface will be embedded into your skin, and will be powered by your own blood.

This blood-powered digital tattoo can display videos, and even act as a phone or computer. Your blood will act as a fuel cell; and the device will use its Bluetooth capability to communicate with your portable gadgets or even other devices implanted in your body.

This Jim Mielke’s creation will be implanted beneath the skin of your arm. It will tap into your bloodstream, which then converts the oxygen and glucose into electric power. Hey, who know that blood can power devices? The implant then can act as a touchscreen input device, so you can manage your laptops or cellphones by just tapping your arm.

Although the concept is creepy enough for me not to even wonder how it would feel like, it’s actually quite interesting to note that technology scientists are banking on our bloodstreams to power devices such as this one.
