Eye-Fi Goes International, Takes Trip to Britain

For those of you living at the other side of the world (read that as Europe), Eye-Fi will be coming to your countries (particulary Great Britain) on October 19 for £50, £70 and £120 (depending on the card’s size).

The Eye-Fi is a WiFi-enabled, geotagging SD cards that is compatible with most digital cameras so you can upload pictures directly to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, etc. The Eye-Fi comes in three versions–all of which have 4GB of space.

There’s the Home Video that can send images to a waiting computer, the Share Video that adds direct uploading of photos and videos to the web and the Pro, which works with RAW images and adds geotagging capability to your SD card. The Pro Eye-Fi can also upload to ad-hoc networks rather than via a router.

These cards will be available in Amazon, Apple, Computer Warehouse and Dabs.

Apple must be selling them unofficially here in Japan as I’ve seen them for sale at the Shibuya Apple Store.
