Ever wondered why we can’t just watch directly from bit torrents? I mean, torrents take a second to download. Seeding this torrent and downloading the actual file takes forever though, so why not just make a machine that can read these torrent files?

Well, here’s the answer to the age-old question. The people over at ThinkGeek is now offering the Mvix Ultio 1080p Bit Torrent Media Player. The name says it all, so there’s really no need for me to expound on anything.

But for the geeks, here’s the full details on this amazingly conceived device:

* Native 1080p video output at up to 1920×1080 resolution
* Incredible variety of video and audio codec support including MKV
* Built-in BitTorrent client for sharing and downloading video files
* HDMI, composite or component video output
* Optical SPDIF 5.1 Channel Dolby Digital audio output
* Takes up to 1.5 Terabyte STAT hard drive
* Built-in samba server with UPnP implementation

The Mvix Ultio 1080p Bit Torrent Media Player will cost you $169.99. Just make sure you have your own SATA hard drive since the Mvix Ultio will only work with those.

Definitely a reasonable prize to consider for a media player that is all in one. I’m very impressed with my Ultio discovering different new features every day just like what I want. I am very much amaze with its capablities in networking, having the UPnP, where I can share my data from PC and even browse Youtube, Hulu, Netflix and more. I’m very much excited to know more what this box has for me!!..

I’m actually searching for a media player that affords my budget (<$200) with great features. Like MKV, DTS, DVix and is able to connect wireless to networks. I found several post for this product having positive and negative comments. Is this product can satisfy what I’m looking for as I’ve mentioned?

    Need help..:p

Just got my Ultio box delivered in two days! Amazing isn’t it?!.. Yes it plays all the codec you’ve mentioned as I do try them. It works flawlessly and you can use it wirelessly as it has Built-in samba server with UPnP and Bit Torrent. It also supports ISO that’s what I really love about it, great to consider that it can handle every codec I thrown at it and even a video I couldn’t play on my PC. Every day I’m enjoying the unique features I discovered with this box and indeed a must have one!

When I received my Mvix Ultio package, I was surprised to see the assortment of cables that went with it. I got excited to see that one of those is an HDMI cable. Other manufacturers will charge me extra for HDMI cable. With its long list of video and audio files that can be played, I would call it a “Complete Device”.

I downloaded 5 videos via its built-in BitTorrent client. And it was able to do the job faster than my PC can! Its built-in Torrent Client, combined with basic NAS features makes it an ideal setup for digital media acquisition, storage and sharing. I was really amazed how awesome this player can be!

I bought an Mvix Ultio package last 2 weeks and I am very happy with its capabilities. I bought it for just about $260 and I find it worth the price. Oh no, it exudes its price of course.

With all it’s built in functions of this Mvix Ultio, I wonder how they’ve developed this kind of product. Well, talking about products, I have been using different brand of HD until last week. I find the other one good though but I found this one cooler.

My Mvix Ultio package arrived last week from its delivery period of 1 week. And until now, I feel very satisfied with its internet capabilities and other functions. I recommend this product to all of you.

Had this Ultio for over a month now. I’m still having ups and downs with it. I’ve worked through them with “temp” fixes but no permanent fix from the MvixUsa. Opened up tickets, did the whole thing. If you want to get involved and talk about the Ultio visit the site I made just for it. We need some new good people. Site is BRAND new. Thanks!

I have this unit for 3 months now and I am tired of resoving issues, one by one.
First with the btpd and samba install than with the wireless. (all resolved now after hours of work)
I still cant download from the BT client.
Mvix ultio is a very unmature product and they have absolutely no guide or documentation for its usage.
This is absolutely worthless for a non techie.

  9. Martin says:

I wish someone would tell me how to install BT Samba! I’ve tried everything that the documentation says, but it just won’t install. keep getting failed messages.
    Any adea anyone?

  10. Danny says:

I have the same problem. Trying to install samba/bt from USB but getting message: failed.

    Thanks.
