Rubik’s TouchCube: $150 Price Is a Puzzle

You know that we’re really entering the “modernest” stage in our history when you see something as simple as a Rubik’s Cube being turned into a high-tech toy gadget. When before you have to stretch some muscles to turn and twist your cube (in order, of course, to get that desired one-color per side combination), now you only have to swipe your finger on this touch-sensitive version of Ern? Rubik’s.

Depending on the movements of your finger, the Ern? Rubik’s will “rotate” to the corresponding slice or layer. It is fairly difficult to explain this to those who have yet to see the mechanical version of the cube but then again, I guess almost all of our readers are already familiar with the Rubik’s right? There’s a processor inside the cube that can help you solve the puzzle, and tease you with the minimum number of moves needed to complete it.

The TouchCube first came out in February of this year, and is now available from BestBuy. You can have this “computerized” version of Rubik’s Cube for $150, which is pretty costly considering that it will twist your brain trying to solve this thing.
