As you already know, the BlackBerry Strom 9500 was unveiled last month and since it’s going to become available soon, we thought it would be nice to give you an update of the already dubbed “iPhone Killer.” We are aware that there were so many handsets who were nicknamed like this and the BlackBerry Storm will be just another competitor against Apple’s iPhone rather than its killer.

The BlackBerry Storm 9500 is a touchscreen handset with a new and greatly improved user interface worthy of a good smartphone. RIM decided that it was about time to develop a smartphone with a better touchscreen interface that should win the heart of handset users just like the iPhone have done it.

The Storm 9500 will be based on BlackBerry OS 4.7, 624Mhz processor, 128MB of RAM and 1GB of integrated memory, but this could be expanded up to 32GB thanks to the microSD card slot. The smartphone features BlackBerry Maps, DataViz document viewer/editor, HSDPA, EDGE/GPRS, Built-in GPS, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording capabilities.

The screen also resembles the one of the iPhone as at the Storm 9500 you will find a 3.25-inch display with a resolution of 360×480 in 65,000 colors. The spec list also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, landscape and full QWERTY keyboard, full HTML browser support as well as lots of email accoung like Blackberry Enterprise, Lotus notes, IMAP4, POP3, Microsoft Exchange among others.

We all are social networking maniacs so RIM decided to load the Storm 9500 with Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live, AOL, ICQ, Facebook, MySpace and Flickr, however, you can download many other through the BlackBerry App Center.

There is plenty of battery power therefore the BlackBerry Storm 9500 should last about 5 hours of talktime and 360 hours in standby mode.
