Pricey GPS App TomTom Arrives for iPhone

After much awaiting, TomTom finally arrives in App Store around the world. The TomTom is a highly anticipated GPS navigation application for your iPhones.

TomTom will deliver 3D GPS navigation with a spoken turn-by-turn directions. There’s an optional car kit that you can buy wherein your iPhone will be equipped with a mounted antenna for better GPS performance. The car mount has a built-in speaker, audio output jack and a microphone that can be used with the iPhone as a Bluetooth speakerphone. The car kit can work well with the iPod Touch, turning it into a full GPS device.

The TomTom GPS app will cost $100 while the car mount can cost somewhere in the vicinity of $90. I’m not sure if the TomTom is worth it since you can get almost the same features with the CoPilot Live, which will only cost you $35. Stay tuned for more post regarding the TomTom app.
