Nokia Mako Side-Slider and Oh-So-Shiny Thresher for AT&T

A whole new bunch of leaks from Nokia for the AT&T leaks made its way to the Internet this week. And assuming that these would all soon be released in the North America, I’ve decided to name three of these AT&T-enabled phones, focusing on marketing the features of the giant two.

The bunch is composed of the Nokia, Mako, Thresher and the Snapper. But due to the unavailability of the Snapper’s features, we bring you first the Mako and the Thresher.

Nokie Mako is a side-slider and an S60 phone with a QWERTY keyboard in one. Although it has somewhat some snoozy specifications (a low 2 MP camera), I doubt anyone would double-think about getting their hands on this one.

The Mako’s features include:

  • Excellent talk time (up to 4 hours UMTS)
  • A-GPS: SUPL and Control Plane support for AT&T Navigator
  • Dedicated GPS key for 1-touch access
  • Messaging optimized
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Automatic landscape / portrait display orientation
  • Oz email / IM
  • Multi-tasking key to swap among open apps
  • Camera: 2 MP digital HP camera, 4x digital zoom
  • Music-capable
  • OMA DRM / OTA + WM-DRM / MTP
  • NB-AMR, Midi, MP3, WMA, AAC+, eAAC+, WAV, RealAudio 10
  • Media player
  • Video playback: H.263, MPEG4, H. 264, RealVideo 10, WMV 9
  • Video share calling
  • AT&T address book
  • Video exchange
  • Cellular video
  • OSS browser
  • XHTML Internet browser
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, USB 2.0
  • 128MB internal memory + removable hot swappable memory
  • 2.5mm UHJ
  • Integrated hands-free speaker
  • AT&T FOTA

Meanwhile, the Nokia Thresher is probably one of the shiniest slider the Nokia has ever produced. It has better features and specs than the Mako, I might say, though Mako’s interface is one to beat.

The Thresher’s features include:

  • Navigation and entertainment enablers
  • A-GPS: SUPL and Control plane support for AT&T navigator
  • Automatic orientation of maps
  • 360 degree optical joystick for navigating maps and browsing
  • AT&T address book
  • Uplink noise cancellation
  • 4 hours UMTS talk time
  • Removable memory MicroSD and up to 140 MB on board memory
  • Bluetooth 2.1 (stereo)
  • Micro USB for data and charging
  • 3.2 megapixel camera and 4x smooth digital zoom keys supporting he landscape mode
  • Full-screen viewfinder
  • Music player
  • MAXD submenu requirements for 3G with WM-DRM / MTP + dedicated hand or soft key access
  • NB-AMR, Midi, MP3, WMA, AAC+, eAAC, eAAC+, MPEG-4, WAV
  • 2.5 universal headset
  • HAC (M3/T3), FOTA, IM /Email

Prices for these bunch of Nokia leaks are still not available, especially as they are not out of the market yet. But check out the site for some “leaking” progress in the future. Too bad it looks like the Nokia won’t be releasing the Mako and Thresher in other countries.  The Snapper, by the way, is angling at an August release.
