The title of this post may be a little deceiving because to get this Nokia Net Booklet for only $299, you have to sign up for a $60-a-month, two-year contract with AT&T–the laptop’s distributor. If you add the $60 a month, that will amount to $1,750 in two years!
With that price, you can get an even more powerful laptop. But of course, if you believe in both Nokia and AT&T, and is in the lookout for a fast-purchased netbook, then this might just be the one you are looking for.
This Booklet 3G is made of a single piece of aluminum, and measures about a half inch thin and weighs only 2.6 pounds. It has a 16-cell battery that can last to up to 12 hours, Nokia claims. It has an HDMI port, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, 720p video and 120GB hard drive. It will also run the new Windows 7 operating system.
But what’s amazing with this laptop is its SIM slot that can connect to a 3G network available in whatever areas you may be in. It is also bundled with other Nokia services such as OVI and GPS.
Anyway, AT&T’s going to be the “exclusive activation partner” for the Nokia Booklet 3G while BestBuy is going to be the “exclusive retail” outlet.
You can get this new booklet starting October 22 (same day as the launch of the Windows 7) this year.
