no longer one to back away from a controversial subject, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith gave his ideas on the “Black Lives topic” movement. On Tuesday, he discussed the #BlackLivesMatter movement on his “Stephen A. Smith exhibit” on SiriusXM radio.

Presidential candidate and Former Maryland Gov. Mark O’Malley stated at a a presidential town corridor in Phoenix over the weekend, “i think that every one of us as americans have a duty to recognize the ache and grief right through our country from all the lives that have been misplaced to violence, whether or not that’s violence at the hands of police, whether or not that’s violence at the hands of civilians. Black lives matter. White lives topic. All lives subject.”

O’Malley used to be interrupted by way of protesters chanting “black lives matter” at a Netroots Nation convention.

“That used to be a mistake on my part, and i meant no disrespect,” O’Malley mentioned in an internet interview after the experience. “i didn’t imply to be insensitive in anyway or be in contact that i did not consider the super passion, dedication and feeling and depth of feeling that all of us must be attaching to this problem.”

“Let me preface my feedback with the aid of pronouncing i am totally aware about the truth that nobody white can say what I’m about to claim,” Smith mentioned all the way through his six-minute monologue Tuesday. “however rattling it, I’m gonna say it. Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley apologized on Saturday. women and gents, guess why he apologized. as a result of during a discussion, in entrance of an abundance of African-americans, he mentioned ‘all lives subject.’ as opposed to ‘Black. Lives. subject.’ Now, there’s plenty of things that I might get into. but this is a sports activities exhibit, and i’m now not going to get into that. however simply to make my position clear: I received two points to make. What the hell is he supposed to say? I mean the subsequent thing … what are you going to ask him to claim subsequent, ‘best black lives topic?’ All lives do subject! Now, we consider where the #BlackLivesMatter originated from. I mean, in the aftermath of Trayvon Martin and the whole lot. Eric Gardner, the listing goes on and on, Michael Brown. We remember the fact that and no person’s ignoring that. And no person’s ignoring that as a society we obtained some severe problems. nobody’s denying that there’s problems with racism, that to a point. some police officers acting up, that problem needs to be addressed. but what is a presidential candidate supposed to assert?”

What do you think of O’Malley’s comment and apology? trust Smith’s take on the situation? hold forth beneath.
