Yandex releases a major update for its map app on Windows Phone
Russian search giant Yandex today released a major update for its Yandex.Maps app on Windows Phone. The company is revamping the whole design of the app to make it match Windows 10’s design. As you can see in the above screenshots, the app looks much cleaner and prettier than it used to before. Apart from the new design, there doesn’t seem to be any other major new changes in the update.
Here are some of the features of the app:
- Detailed maps of over 300 towns and cities across Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey
- Real time traffic info
- Plan journeys quickly by simply tapping on your starting point and destination on the map
- Search for addresses as well as cafes, pharmacies, ATMs, gas stations etc.
- Plan car trips throughout Russia and Ukraine, taking current traffic conditions into account
- Route information (distance, speed, estimated journey time) and automatic route recalculation following any deviation
- Satellite images and Public map
- Public transport stops
- User reviews on businesses and organisations
