Mozilla released yesterday the first Firefox Mobile which is called the Fennec. The mobile browser looks good, and I’m sure that a lot of handset users will use the FennecFox. This alpha version of Fennec was released to:

  • get wider community feedback on our approach to the user experience
  • engage Mozilla community teams, including localizers, add-on developers, and testers
  • get feedback from Web developers
  • For the moment, the Fennec mobile alpha works only on the Nokia N810 tablet, and it will work on Windows, OS X and Linux. Well, let’s just wait for future versions to show up as this was released only for testing.

The Internet Explorer Mobile 6 was officially announced a while ago but so far we didn’t see any pictures, but this thing has changed as here are the first shots of the update aka 6 on 6. It was called like this because it’s IE Mobile 6 on Windows Mobile 6.1 so Microsoft thought it would be a nice nickname.

There will be two compatibility options for the IE Mobile 6, Mobile and Desktop, identified with MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile 6.0, and respectively, Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1.

We are waiting for more information about the Internet Explorer 6 and we are hoping that Microsoft will give…

As you know by now, Google Chrome is here and IMO it’s not that great. Actually is kind of poor, but this is just me. Unfortunately, Mac OS X and Linux users couldn’t test Google’s browser so far, but CodeWeavers released a Chrome-based unofficial version of Chromium just for them.

Well, you might be wondering if it’s any good, but hey, the Chrome itself is not so good. The unofficial Chromium looks like Google’s browsers , however, this version is based on Wine which allows Windows applications to run on Mac OS X or Linux.

The developer, CodeWeavers, warns Chromium users to not use it as a main-browser as this version “is…

The browser that made a lot of fuss lately is finally available for download. It does lack a lot of features, but not the most important ones. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be very good yet, because I downloaded it and the installer crashed. Hopefully they will fix it and it will be able to compete with the big players.

Google seems to do a good job with Chrome and like every new software, it has bugs.

It seems like nobody likes Microsoft anymore as after Yahoo’s refusal, Google will launch a new browser tomorrow as they are trying to get a piece of Microsoft’s pie in the browser market share. Google’s new browser is called Chrome and it will be launched in beta version for Windows in 100 countries, however, the Mac and Linux version will enter on the market soon after that.

And if this wasn’t enough, Google Blogoscoped unveiled a comic book which is destined to give users details about the Chrome open-source browser. Well, this puts end to a rumor that first appeared in 2004, but Google thinks that this is the perfect time for…
