There’s been a good deal of chatter and speculation with regard to Mercedes-Benz creating an ultra-excellent nü-NRG vehicle prototype; in fact, they’ve been tossing around some ideas for a while now. Fresh out of the idea oven, however, is a gnarly new design that Mercedes-Benz is calling the F-CELL Roadster. The vehicle clearly resembles some vehicles of yore, but the power system is completely cutting-edge. The vehicle is controlled by a joystick, similar to the antique drive-sticks, but it couples with drive-by-wire technology. Here’s an interesting tidbit from technology-fused furniture design. Sung-Pil Hwang has built the aptly-named “Plug-In Table,” which is simultaneously a shelf, a lamp, and charging station. The table seems to balance itself with support from its primary plug in the wall. The table could probably benefit from a secondary support system, given that it seems to balance perilously on the edge of one shelf. Potential future updates to the design could support a more modular design, whereby the shelves are configurable or rotatable to some degree.

An interesting pre-production concept has surfaced on the furniture circuit. The idea puts high-resolution art onto the seat of a folding chair, whose legs are stylized like the toolings on an exhibition-quality frame. When the chair is folded up, the art is displayed in the frame, creating flat rectangle that’s suitable for hanging on the wall.

This is a nifty concept piece that also offers up a thoughtful new way to store folding chairs. We wouldn’t mind seeing some of these in production, perhaps with custom-printed chair surfaces, as well as with a library of public domain fine art imagery. A while ago I thought that an MP3 player is useless as I thought that there are other (and better) options available. However, my opinion has changed when I went on a road-trip. In those moments I would have done anything for an MP3 player, but it was too late for a very useful portable media player. All over the world there are many hotels, but tourists are getting tired to see the same sights and type of structures, therefore we are expecting to visit something different that would offer an experience of a lifetime. Here is Aerotel, a concept of a hotel on the water designed by Russian-based Alexander Asadov Architectural Studio.

Lately, we haven’t shown you too many concepts because we couldn’t find anything that was interesting, however, here is a great yacht concept called Sentori 58R and judgingt by its looks, it will be a luxury and fast yacht. Why fast? Because it was inspired by a sports car and we can see that from its aerodynamic shape with a lot of nice curves.

The Sentori 58R sports-yacht was designed by Christian Gumpold and Christopher Gloning who used “surface tensions and automotive, coupe-type elements.” The luxury boat features a fly-bridge motor yacht, three decks, and it measure 18m while the displacement is of 28to.
