The Garmin Nuvi 1350T is probably the most affordable and functional full-featured navigator out in the market today. And though it is ad-supported, this mostly helps in subsidizing its very reasonable price.

Most navigators suffer from being too expensive; or if it is affordable, it usually lacks features that we are looking for. The Garmin Nuvi 1350T has the basic features of almost all GPS navigators. It has a voice command and Bluetooth, and also an improved interface. It is also faster and even higher than most Nuvis we’ve seen before.

The Garmin Nuvi 1350T retails at $350 on shops, and $310 online. The ads are not that annoying yet, considering that…

By next week, the Dell Mini Laptop 10 will get full navigation options. I know some people who have just gotten their hands on the Mini 10 will shout foul over this new development.

The full navigation options will include A-GPS + WiFi system, complete with CoPilot navigation software and network location services from SkyHook. This collaboration of Dell with GPS companies is one if their go-getters these days. Although not purely for marketing stuff, I think I can pretty much guarantee that these will be perks that are sure to be enjoyed by some.

Dell is also including the Loki browser plugin for Firefox and IE, which can integrate your Mini…

I don’t know if I should be scared with this or now. Having a GPS tracker right at the very sole of my shoes is kind of not what I had in mind when I said I wanted to track someone. If my mother puts this on me, I’m sure she’ll get my car keys faster than I can say “wait!”

GTX Corporation and Aetrex originally created this GPS shoes for Alzheimer (condition of short- or long-term memory loss) patients. Family members and doctors would get help from the GPS shoes to track the patients if they wandered far from where they are supposed to be.

Although this might trigger surveillance society…

Epson announced the development of its cutting-edge Infineon XPOSYS chip, scheduled for mass production by the end of 2009. The new chip is an “Assisted GPS” device, measures 2.8mm x 2.9mm, and will be 25% smaller than any A-GPS chip on the market. Furthermore, the XPOSYS should use only half the power of current-generation chips. Epson promises a greater sensitivity in indoor environments.

A-GPS is used extensively with GPS-capable cellular phones and enhances the start-up performance of GPS-based systems. This technology standard will likely be the future of GPS development for the next several years.

In the past we’ve seen some interesting gadgets like self-contained GPSs with WiMax connectivity like the Clarion MIND and the Nokia N810, and these are cool because they are standalone GPSs with integrated WiMax. However, the aforementioned gadgets were kinda buggy and hard to use therefore dmedia has decided to design a WiMax-packing device called G5W.

The dmedia G5W will feature a 5-inch wide touchscreen, WiMax, GPS, Bluetooth, and FM Transmitter. The G5W WiMax Car-Navi is expected to enter on the Hong Kong market in the following months, however, we don’t know anything about pricing or availability on other markets. As you can see this device would be very functional, but we…

The TomTom XL V2 GB is a great GSP in-car navigation gadget, that features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display. The display is big enough so you can see the roads in detail, but not too big, so the GPS unit doesn’t look bulky.

Like most in-car navigation units, it’s plug and go, so you don’t have to do anything, except plug it in and set the destination. Of course you have the option to choose the roads you would like to avoid or specify your own routes. Also it let’s you know about closed roads and traffic jams, which is very useful, especially if you’re in a hurry.

The voice instructions are clear…
