Apple is preparing to released the Firmware 2.1 beta, which will have new GPS features and posibly the copy/paste function. This update is much needed by the iPhone users, because the GPS navigation isn’t very good, lacking lots of features, like speed or direction.

The new iPhone 2.1 firmware should be soon released, especially that the 2.0 version has some bugs and issues, Apple definitely needs to fix.

They say that now the services are “up & running” perfectly and they also feel sorry that the MobileMe didn’t work for a week as the transition “a lot rockier” than Apple hoped.

Also, in the statement Apple says that they will not use the word “push” until the PCs of Macs are instantly synced with the MobileMe “cloud” (despite the fact that the iPhone and the web apps are instantly synced).

As the MobileMe service didn’t work Apple thought it would be nice to repay…

Well, we kind of predicted this. Actually, the whole world knew that at some point the iPhone Dev Team will jailbreak the iPhone 3G. Although the smartphone was released a few days ago, the Dev Team guys are claiming “”world’s first jailbroken” iPhone 3G and they have a video to prove it (check the video below). Their tool will be called PwnageTool 2.0 and will give you the possibility to install unofficial apps on the iPhone 3G (the ones downloaded from the App Store will work just fine). Can’t wait for them to release the tool!

You can say that Apple is a successful company because its products are very successful but in my opinion there is no other product which can compete against the iPhone for the title of the most welcomed by the phone users and I could say by the public. I can’t really tell why everybody loved it almost instantly because the iPhone was not that good as it lacked some important features, it was not available in all countries (actually, it was available in very few countries), and it cost way too much for an average person. Driven by the success of the iPhone and, of course, by its flaws, Apple…
