Samsung finally revealed Pixon, the brand new 8-megapixel handset. As we expected its camera is hi-tech, featuring AutoFocus, face detection and geotagging. The 3.2-inch touchscreen uses Samsung’s TouchWiz, and the data stored on the microSD cards can be shared via Bluetooth 2.0.

Pixon’s videocamera can shoot at 30 and 120 frames per second, making slow motion playback possible. Not a word yet about the price, but it seems that Samsung’s Pixel will be available for shipping in mid-october. Anyway, in conclusion I must say: “Another great phone by Samsung.”

LG KP500 is set to hit the market later this month. Though its nickname, Cookie, doesen’t make you think we are talking about a 3-inch touchscreen cellphone, we can say that it has decent features: Bluetooth, GPRS/Edge, FM Radio. The price is great, I must say, only $288 and probablly below $100 on contract, but as you thought threm must be something wrong with this phone: LG’s KP500 3MP camera can only record video at QVGA resolution at 12 fps and it can only playback MPEG4 videos. Anyway, if you are satisfied with the performances of its camera, go ahead, buy one, LG Cookie is nice.

If you have ever wanted a good-looking phone with Nano’s technology, means you and Mac Funamizu think alike. He designed the phone of his dreams and the result was a mixture between a Nokia Aeon and a Nano, so how should we call it the NaNokia?

We know nothing about its features, but we can guess: tactile feedback technology, an all-purpose adaptable surface and e-ink screen technology. I must say it looks great, but is it really possible to hide a keyboard without ruining the line of the cellphone?

Yes, that’s right. Nokia is building a wooden phone. Even so, it is quite hi-tech too, featuring an 8-megapixel camera, speaker and Bluetooth, running on a Symbian S60 OS. We might tend to think the Nokia’s new concept will hurt the forests, but don’t worry it is made from sustainable forests, so is eco-friendly too. Anyway I think it’s looking great, though it’s design is closer to a camera than to a phone. Hopefully Nokia will get down to work and mass produce it. Good job Nokia!

It looks like everybody was impressed by T-Mobile G1, because it is said that 1,5 million pieces have already been pre-ordered. As we all know the first impression counts, so it seems T-Mobile G1 has quickly find admireres among super-phones lovers. Word has it that Google is set to sell even more, about 2 millions before the end of the month. I know it sounds a bit astronomical, but I think nothing is too big for Google. Personally, I woundn’t want to buy one without seeing it in flesh and blood, but I guess the other ones are not like me. Are you?

Word has it that, although BlackBerry Storm has just hit the market, RIM is already trying to come up with a new generation of Storm “jaw-dropping” handsets. Allegedly, the new BlackBerry Storm features a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and 1 GB of memory. As an added bonus, BlackBerry had developed for the new Storm a screen that is close do HD.

From the way things are evolving it looks like BlackBerry Storm could be HTC’s Touch Diamond fiercest rival. It is said that RIM is already developing a couple of successors for BlackBerry Storm. Not a word yet about the price or when Storm will see the sun light, but we…

Are you tired of how the iPhone 3G looks? Actually, are you tired of having a regular cellphone? I know you are and the team from KDDI AU know that too. The AU Design Project have unveiled a concept cellphone which is destined to become the perfect music phone in the future.

You could say that the KDDI concept cellphone was inspired by the Transformers as from a cellphone it can turn into a musical box with a great speaker system which also features a cool equalizer on each side. Although this is only a concept, I am very confident that we will see this on the market in a few…

The inventor of the first modern portable handset is Dr Martin Cooper, who was the general manager for the systems division at Motorola at that time. In 1973, Dr Cooper made the first call on a portable cell phone. He called his rival Joel Engel, head of research at Bell Labs, to give him the latest news on how the competition between them was turning out. The picture above represents him and his first mobile phone.

The first commercial handheld cellular phone was launched by Motorola in 1983, and weighed 28 ounces. The device could be purchased for a price of ‘only’ $3,995, and keep in mind that $1 was much more…

Usually, we like to see a new cellphone concept as they should be more useful and easy to use, but then we were surprised to see this mobile phone which for the moment is unnamed. It was designed by Marc Schomann and if you want to turn it on then you will have to twist a segment, then if you want to make a call you will have to turn twelve segments. Just imagine if you want to make an international call!

This cellphone concept was inspired by haptic technology and it’s the most “cryptic” phone that I have ever seen. So, if you like this design then prepare your wrists…
