The new Intel Atom processor, Pine Trail Atom, is rumored to be included in the soon-to-come MSI touchscreen netbook. The new Atom chipset is being planned to be officially launched at CES, according to MSI.

Intel, however, said that they are still looking at shipping the chipset to consumers before the end of 2009. MSI is said to be hoping to be the first one to have their hands on this Pine Trail Atom, as well as its 10-inch convertible U150 with Windows 7. Pine Trail is said to have a better performance, with 20-percent increase in power consumption.

After lots of thumb-twiddling and cold, clammy brow-sweating, the MSI Wind U123 finally found its way to retail stores in Japan, sparking screams of delight from a transfixed global audienced. The MSI Wind U123 is the newest model in the U100 series of Wind netbooks, coming in to trump the previous belt-holder, the U120. The U120 was strapped together with only 1 GB of RAM and boasted of the earlier generation Atom N270 processor; the U123 can fit a maximum 2 GB of RAM and runs the slightly edgier Atom N280 chipset.

Out of the box, you can expect to find the beautiful, ten-inch 1024 x 600 screen, the Intel Atom…

Netbook aficionados will be happy to know the folks over Laptop Mag have just dropped their official write-up of the new ultraportable from MSI. The MSI Wind U120 offers up a bright, 10 inch display, the latest Atom processor, and an extra-big hard drive.

The U120 decided to go with sharp, clean angles all around, a glossy cover, and a reflective screen bezel. The travel weight totals 3.4 pounds if you factor in its AC adapter. The unit itself isn’t quite as small as the HP Mini 1000, but weighs approximately as much as the lauded Lenovo IdeaPad S10. The mouse included two distinct buttons, an upgrade from the single-click layout…

A new startup called ExRo Technologies has developed a new generator to harvest energy from wind, that could both lower the cost and increase the power output by up to 50%.

Their new generator can run efficiently in a wider range of conditions than current generations do, so that more than 90% of it’s energy can be converted to electricity. The problem with conventional generators is that the efficiency drops dramatically if the wind slows down or speeds up, but is compensed by a fuel-powered engine, which increases costs.

ExRo has managed to replace this mechanical engine with an electric on that can dramatically increase the range of wind speeds at which…

It seems MSI’s WInd U120 is set to hit stores’ shelves in November. Whether you will choose the white or the black case for Wind U120 you will have to pay $552 for a built-in 3.5G data module and you will also receive an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB memory and a 120GB hard disk. MSI decided to load on the 120GB hard disk Windows XP.

Though everyone knows ASUS is preparing a touch-screen Eee PC, MSI denied that they would want to launch one, as the costs are to big. Anyway MSI said they will astound us with a Wind notebook with “new Innovations” in March, at CeBIT 2009.
