Victoria Taylor, the popular former ability director at Reddit whose firing caused a temporary shutdown of hundreds of subreddits—and a critical big apple instances editorial—has damaged her silence.
In a Reddit post (in fact), Taylor eventually responded to the overwhelming give a boost to she has received from customers over the last week:
How was your weekend? Mine was…interesting, to say the least.
I’ve had a while to consider how to respond to the phenomenal kindness and toughen you’ve shown me. And right here it’s:
I’ll never fail to remember my time at reddit. You allowed me to be a part of one of the vital greatest conversations of our time, and it was once an honor to be your ambassador.
I just want to take a moment to assert thanks to all of you who have reached out.
thank you for everything you’ve given me. from your messages to your paintings, i’m deeply moved and grateful past words, and your encouragement has intended more than you’ll ever recognize.
I’ve been incredibly humbled and honored to serve this community, and i truly imagine all voices matter.
Your voices topic.
You proved that this weekend.
And in point of fact, this weekend wasn’t about me. It used to be about you. And if i do know one thing about this group, it’s that you simply’ll proceed making your voices heard. and that is the reason an idea.
i know many of you’ll be involved in what’s next for me, and i am still figuring that out. then again, i will guarantee you, wherever the highway leads, i’ll live up to the faith you’ve had in me.
that you may take the woman out of reddit, but which you could’t take the reddit out of the lady. I imagine in you. and that’s the reason a promise.
notably, Taylor didn’t deal with the terms of her departure, that are nonetheless uncertain and the subject of intensive hypothesis. while well mannered and gracious, her put up mostly avoids any dialogue of both her shock dismissal remaining week and Reddit CEO Ellen Pao’s botched managing of it.
