Molekule Air Pro: Designed For Large Spaces

Air purifiers are an important device in our home, keeping pet hair and particulate matter at bay. Previously, I reviewed the Molekule Air Mini and found it to be one of the better air purifiers on the market. After that review, the company gave me a larger model to try to better accommodate a much bigger square footage.

Now, I have been using the Molekule Air Pro to test how the air purifier works on a coverage area that is said to span up to 1,000 square feet. Since that is considerably more than the 250 square feet of their other model, I was curious to see how it could take care of such a large area. Here’s my review.

Unique to Molekule

Molekule uses technology for air purification that sets it apart from other air purifiers on the market. A typical air purifier collects pollutants on a filter. Instead, Molekule’s technology captures and destroys a range of pollutants while they are still in the air that passes through the device. Molekule breaks these pollutants down at the molecular level. The pollutants include bacteria, viruses, allergens, and VOCs.

Molekule refers to its technology as PECO, which stands for Photo Electrochemical Oxidation. The filter has a coated material on it that starts a chemical reaction when activated by light. The process can destroy these pollutants as they pass through the air purifier.

Auto-Protect Mode

One of the most interesting features of the Air Pro is the auto-protect mode. There is a sensor that is designed to detect the particulate matter and pollutants in the air.

When the Auto-Protect mode is on, the device automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the type and amount of particulate matter in the air that it needs to remove. The device also lets you know the amount using a color assigned to a specific range of particles. This includes green (low), yellow (moderate), red (bad), and purple (very bad).

What’s Different About the Air Pro?

There some features that can only be found on the Air Pro compared to Molekule’s other air purifier models. The particulate matter sensor and Auto-Protect modes are two features that are only available in the Air Pro and Air Mini+. While Air Mini+ has a sensor that detects particles in the air, the sensor capability in Air Pro is more robust. This allows for enhanced detection and distinction among particle sizes. It can help you understand what could be causing spikes in your indoor particle levels.

App-Enabled

With the app, you can pair your device with the app on your smartphone to control the air purifier from anywhere. You can use the app to monitor filter life and sign-up for filter auto-refills. The app also lets you manage more than one Molekule air purifier and monitor air particulate levels.

A New Pro-Grade Model on its Way

The Molekule Air Pro is the company’s newest professional-grade air purifier engineered for the demands of commercial spaces, yet it’s elegantly designed for larger spaces in the home (up to 1,000 square feet of space and completely portable).

The Air Pro is built with three times the airflow, three sizes of particle sensing, and three ways to protect against pollutants. Better yet, Molekule’s proprietary PECO technology is scientifically proven to destroy bacteria, viruses, mold and a variety of other pollutants in the air.

This makes me feel pretty good about the Air Pro in terms of its air purification capabilities. This includes how it is helping all types of businesses, organizations, and even schools.

Pros and Cons

This is the most effective air purifier I’ve ever had. While I liked their smaller one, it only took care of one room. It was portable so we could move it around the house. However, this much larger version can cover a more expansive area. This includes much of the common areas we use in our house, such as the kitchen, living room, and family room.

The other aspect of this air purifier I like is its easy set-up. Insert the power cord after taking the device out of the box and just plug it in. I already had the Molekule app downloaded from using their smaller version. There is an on-screen set-up on the device that is simple to follow as is the app. Then, it just starts working after you select preferences.

The only con is the price, which is high for many people. It’s an incredible device for what it offers so those with the budget should consider this highly effective air purifier. Of course, Molekule has some other sizes and options that cost less but still use the same technology.

Where to Buy

The Molekule Air Pro will be available for pre-order on September 22 at Amazon, Best Buy (online), and Molekule.com for $ 999 at launch ($ 200 off the regular price of $ 1199), and it will ship in mid-October.

Final Thoughts

The Molekule Air Pro works well in a much larger space. It offers the auto-protect mode and particulate matter sensor I did not get in the Air Mini I had been using. The air purifier is one of the more expensive air purifiers on the market. But, it also delivers so much more in terms of technology and air purification.
