Pentagram Unleashes A Tirade against corporate Jargon . . . In A Rap Video

there’s a virus afflicting places of work around the world and we now have all heard its signs: ideation, creavation, low-putting fruit, and blue-sky considering. it is company jargon—and it must die. but there’s hope: Pentagram is crusading in opposition to all of the cliches and doublespeak, first by means of skewering company jargon in its 2014 holiday card and now in a new rap video.

Marina Willer and Naresh Ramchandani, companions in Pentagram’s London office, designed the unique card, aptly titled Gamechanger.

“We initially published Gamechanger as an epic poem, a more or less anti-jargon Odyssey or Aeneid, a seven-verse entreaty to all businesses and execs who habitually assault the English language with their industry buzzwords,” Ramchandani writes about the video’s genesis. “however when it got here to creating a video, we realized that epic poems are so two millennia ago and that perhaps a bit of of H.O.V.A would work higher than somewhat of Homer. And so our rap video was once born.” Drew Bierut (son of Pentagram partner Michael Bierut) directed the video, Ngozi Myke stars as the Gamechanger, and Pentagram commissioned the backing observe from Jesse Hackett, a solo artist and travelling member of the Gorillaz.

So the next time a colleague talks about “the elephant in the room,” courteously ship him this.
