The ReST Bed is one of the latest mattresses to hit the market, offering a truly smart mattress. Available in the ReST Bed Original or ReST Bed with Purple Grid, these smart mattresses feature customizable firmness settings. These smart features include a memory foam comfort layer and a smart sensor layer as well as a smartphone app, which allows you to adjust the mattress with either manual or automatic settings.
For everything that I read about this mattress and my love of smart devices, I knew this was the next mattress to try out. After contacting the company, I was able to get one of their Purple Grid mattresses.

About the ReST Smart Bed with Purple Grid
Launched in 2015, the company focuses solely on the original and purple grid mattresses. The ReST Bed is known as an airbed mattress because of the air chambers that inflate and deflate the mattress.
The machine-washable mattress cover has performance fabric to help regulate temperature and provides a cooling feel.
Mattress Layers
The bed has four layers. It is similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier, which has four inches of hyper elastic polymer (Purple grid) on the top layer and is 13? thick.
Just below the performance cover is four inches of gel-infused memory foam. This layer is designed to conform to the shape of your body and draw heat away from you.
The next layer is a smart sensor, an antimicrobial knit blend layer that has one thousand data points on a grid. This layer monitors pressure for the app and air pumps. Finally, the support core is made of medical-grade polyurethane air chambers and features the air chambers listed below.
Customizable Options
The mattress has a support core of air chambers. There are five air chambers on each side of the mattress. This allows each user to adjust it to their individual preferences. These five air chamber zones supporting your head, shoulders, lumbar region, hips, and legs.
Sizes
The customizable smart mattress is available in Twin XL, Queen, Queen split top, King, King split top, California King and split King.
Smart Features and Mattress App
The ReST Bed pairs with a smartphone app and has three modes: manual, auto-position, and automatic. The manual setting gives you complete customization for the five zones separately. You can also lock in these settings.
The auto-position option includes settings for back and side sleeping. The sensors in the second layer of the bed detect when sleepers change between these two positions and then adjust accordingly. The automatic setting allows users to set their preferred level of support and then adjusts as users shift positions throughout the night.
The ReST Bed operates with a closed WiFi system.
Pros and Cons
The mattress is super comfortable and works well for all types of mattress preferences — from soft to firm. The motion isolation, temperature control, pressure, and edge support are far superior to other luxury mattresses I’ve tried.
The smart features and app make me feel that I can get the mattress to just the right level for me. Controlling it from my smartphone is a bonus because I personally enjoy using smart devices.
The mattress company gives you a 90-day trial period. There are also no return or restocking fees.
On the con side, while I happen to have a tablet and smartphone to operate it, not everyone may have one of those. It limits the type of customers that can buy it for that reason as well as for the much higher price point. The only other con I could find is some slight noise in the air chambers when the mattress is inflated or deflated.

For the ReST Smart Mattress with the Purple Grid, prices start at $ 4,299 for Twin XL. The Queen is $ 5,499. Prices go all the way up to $ 8,598 for a split King.
They charge $ 99 for a bed removal as well as delivery throughout the United States for $ 199. They also offer delivery to Canada but it is nearly twice the price of the U.S. delivery fee. However, the company does seem to offer quite a few discount options to reduce the mattress cost.

The price is on the higher side so it’s not made for those on a limited budget. However, if the mattress is within your budget, you get an extraordinary amount of features and options that deliver the restful sleep you need.
