Riverdale Season 2 has been renewed by the CW network much before the sensational finale. The series based on popular Archie comics has wrapped up its Season 1 on a dark note, where Fred is suddenly shot by a masked gunman.

Supernatural Coming To Riverdale?
Speculations are rife that the next season might be based on the supernatural. The comic, Afterlife with Archie has a magical twist where Jughead begs Sabrina the Teenage Witch to bring his dog back to life and accidentally starts the zombie apocalypse, reported Vanity Fair.
In addition showrunner of the series says, “Afterlife or not, there will definitely be a big genre element to season 2,” he continues, It’s going to make people go, ‘They’re not really doing that, are they?’” reported Entertainment Weekly. Hence, there is a possibility that Riverdale Season 2 might have magic and occult introduced for the characters.
A New Case And More Mysteries On Its Way
Actress Marisol Nichols who plays Hermione Lodge in Riverdale series has spilled the beans on Season 2. She says, “There will be another case and more mysteries to solve.” She continues,”It’s Riverdale, there’s never not going to be a massive mystery to be solved,” reported Buddy TV. This drops a hint that even the new season might be a dark one with more killings and suspense on its way.
Showrunner Teases Flashbacks For Season 2
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in an interview with TV Line has teased flashbacks for the new season. He says, “…definitely has some really fun flashbacks planned for next season”. Perhaps, these flashbacks might be related to the younger version of the parents of the protagonists of the series.
Riverdale Season 2 premiere has not been officially revealed yet. But the series will be soon available on Netflix.
