Donald Trump and Larry David

Donald Trump had his opening monologue interrupted, but it wasn’t by an angry immigration protestor. It was a planned attack by ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and ‘Seinfeld’ creator Larry David.

“People think I’m controversial, but the truth is I’m a nice guy,” the Republican presidential candidate said during his opening number. “I don’t hold grudges against anybody.”

He then said Rosie O’Donnell welcomed him to SNL this morning. Cast member Aidy Bryant then tried to convince him that she’s not O’Donnell.

Trump then offered a backhanded apology to Rosie O’Donnell: “I said some things about her that were mean and completely accurate.”

When Taran Killam and former SNL’er Darrell Hammond joined Trump on stage he joked, “They’re great. They don’t have my talent, my money, and especially my good looks. But you know what, they’re not bad. And we’re going to have a lot of fun tonight.”

Suddenly, an audience member yelled, “You’re a racist.”

“I knew this was going to happen,” Trump said. “Who is that?”

“Trump’s a racist,” the person yelled again as a camera jumped to show Larry David.

“What are you doing, Larry?” Trump asked.

“I heard if I yelled that, they’d give me $ 5,000,” he responded.

Here’s the crazy part, the group that offered the $ 5,000 said they would pay Larry David, even though he was engaged in a plan joke.

Here’s the full exchange:
