LinkedIn’s #OpenToWork is a way to stand out and be seen

LinkedIn’s #OpenToWork is a way to stand out and be seen | DeviceDaily.com

If you find yourself in a job search, this post is for you. If you know someone in a job search, my guess is that you do, please share it with them and encourage them onward.

LinkedIn’s vision statement has never been more relevant.

Create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce.

Having watched LinkedIn daily for the last 15 years, it seems that they are more committed than ever to this vision.

There are several ways LinkedIn brings this to their platform. #OpenToWork is the latest example, and several people have asked me about it over the last few days. Thanks to Karen Russell and Renee DeVaughn for prompting this blog post.

While I am usually not an advocate for promotional or gimmicky add-ons, including emojis and special characters on a profile, I am suggesting people use the #OpenToNetwork photo frame. See how to add this feature below.

Why?

According to LinkedIn, there are over 10 million employers and 7.5
million monthly job postings on LinkedIn.

And, 70% of people were hired at a company where they had a connection.

In our 2020 world, where people who might be hiring are distracted and overwhelmed, letting them know you’re available for hire is a good idea.

If you have lost your job in 2020, the year that began with the lowest unemployment rate in more than 50 years, you can benefit from addressing your current situation on your LinkedIn profile, cover letter, and interviews. People understand.

Create a LinkedIn profile that enables you to stand out. The #OpenToWork photo frame is one way to increase your visibility to recruiters, your connections, and all LinkedIn members.

Here are some additional resources as you consider your job or career search. Each of these resources will provide the insight you need to position yourself for your next career landing.
