Microsoft reported financial results for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2019 with revenue reaching $33.1 billion — up 14% compared with a year ago.

Earnings came in at $1.38 per share, versus Wall Street’s expected $1.24 per share on $10.7 billion in profit — up from $8.82 billion, respectively.

The Personal Computing segment where search sits rose 4% to $11.1 billion. This segment consists of products and services that place customers at the center of the experience with its technology. The segment is primarily comprised of Bing, Windows, Microsoft Surface and PC accessories, and gaming such as Xbox hardware, content and services.

Productivity and Business Processes revenue — the business unit with Office products for businesses and customers, LinkedIn revenue and Dynamics products and cloud services — rose 13% to $11.1 billion.

The Intelligent Cloud business, which includes Azure, server products, enterprise and cloud services, brought in 10.8 billion in revenue — up 27% from the year-ago quarter.
